GREAT BEND, Kansas-- You typically do not see or hear live music at Wal-Mart, but Great Bend customers did on Friday.
Jake Gill ,a country artist from Hutchinson was at Wal-Mart on 10th street, to promote his new album and to promote one local organization: Sunflower Diversified Services.
Sunflower specializes in helping adults and children with disabilities.
Gill performed outside and helped collect donations for the non-profit group.
"Actually, we're going to do two things. We're going to help them raise money, but they actually have some employment opportunities that we're going to help the community become more aware of that for them. They're a great non-profit organization," said Gill.
While Gill performed, someone else joined in the fun for a good cause: a bell ringer from the Salvation Army.
Gill is performing tonight at Charlie's Bar in Great Bend. He donating a portion of his CD sales to Sunflower Diversified.

Country music recording artist Jake Gill will perform at LeRoy's Bar and Grill, 701 East First at 10 p.m. on Nov. 17 and donate a portion of CD sales to help pay medical expenses for Jerry McMillian of Stafford. The CD can be purchased at the bar or on his website, www.jakegill.net.
Gill is a chiropractor in Hutchinson, and after 11 years in practice, finds himself in a financial position to go after his dream of "playing in the circle on the stage at the Grand Ole Opry" in Nashville, according to his website.
He released his debut album, "Guts Guns and Jesus" on Nov. 1. His music is country rock, with a little bit of Oklahoma and Texas "red dirt" influence, according to manager Shannon Webb, and ranges from timeless country ballads to new, innovative sounds.
"This album is real from beginning to end," Gill said. "Mostly what I want my audience to know is that each of them has been given talents and gifts and they have to find what they are and then share those with the world. It's your duty to yourself, your country and God."
Gill frequently performs benefits, but usually for recognized foundations, according to Webb, but when the McMillian family told him about the expenses related to cancer treatment, he couldn't say no.
